He added that the Russian
side had accepted an invitation to participate in the meeting of the African
Parliamentary Union, which will be held in Zimbabwe in November. The Chairman
of the Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky

Jacob Mudenda thanked Russia for the unwavering support to Zimbabwe, including in countering sanctions.
“Our states must support each other on international platforms. We are convinced that [the sanctions against Russia and Zimbabwe] violate the UN Charter, international law, which must be respected. The Western ones,” said the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
“We have common challenges. Sanctions have been imposed against Zimbabwe and the Russian Federation, therefore it is very important for us, within the framework of international cooperation, to join efforts to counter the pressure, that, contrary to international law, is being exerted on our countries and our citizens are suffering from that,” agreed Vyacheslav Volodin.
Jacob Medenda also addressed members of the State Duma at the plenary session on September 27.
