The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
posted on his Telegram channel that the decision to impose cap on Russian oil and gas proved that the G7 states recognized the ineffectiveness of anti-Russian sanctions.

“Washington and Brussels had to abandon the idea to completely ban our energy resources supplies. An attempt to replace them has failed. The foreign states have realized their dependence on our country,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.

“The thing that the G7 officials call the “cap” on energy prices, in reality will be the “bottom,” added Vyacheslav Volodin. He stressed that “there are more than seven countries in the world market and more than 80% of the world's population do not support sanctions imposed against Russia”.

“The price cap announced by the Western states will be the lower bound. The real price of energy resources will be determined by the market and contractual obligations,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma, the Western model of the global economy, based on colonial principles, “has become obsolete”.

“The G7 states will no longer be able to exploit the rest of the world, buying cheap resources from Russia and other states. The era of their parasitism is over,” concluded the Chairman of the State Duma.
