The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
noted the importance of further strengthening of trade and economic cooperation based on the Strategy for BRICS Economic Partnership 2025.

“We support an increase in share of national currencies when making payments between our countries. The global trading system should be de-dollarized,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.

That would contribute not only to its democratization and an increase in the role of developing countries, but also to sustainability, as said the Chairman of the State Duma. “It would be right for our countries to have a unified position on many issues on the international agenda,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.

“Parliamentary diplomacy should contribute to building a stable multipolar world order based on the principles of justice and equality, recognizing the right of each country to its own sovereign development path,” concluded the Chairman of the State Duma.

The main topic of the Forum, which was held via videoconference, was the role of legislative bodies in the development of high-quality partnership within the framework of BRICS.

The 1st BRICS Parliamentary Forum was held on 8 June 2015 in Moscow, as it was the year of Russia’s chairmanship in the association. 2022 is the year of China’s chairmanship in BRICS.
