drew attention
to the issue of biological security in the Eurasian space at the CSTO PA
Council meeting.
“The factual evidence was sent to the CSTO member states about the ways and purposes of the military biological activities of the Pentagon on the territory of Ukraine.
The laboratories created by Washington did not provide a sufficient level of protection to work with dangerous pathogens,” Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized.
The US military biological activities in Ukraine and other countries threaten life and health of people, as stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.
He added that the uncontrolled activates of these laboratories create a risk of the spread of new viruses, a pandemic of infectious diseases, “while there is no cure or vaccines from that.”
“The military biological programme in Ukraine should be the subject of an international investigation of violations of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention by the United States of America and Ukraine,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.
The Chairman of the State Duma also proposed to hear the report of the Parliamentary Commission on Investigation into Activities of the US Biological Laboratories in Ukraine at the next CSTO PA meeting in the autumn.
