a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, who attend the professional retraining courses
at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian
Federation.
Ivan Melnikov stressed that he had recently been elected a coordinator of the deputy group on interaction with the Parliament of Venezuela and told the guests about Russia’s political system with an emphasis on the parliamentary branch.
The meeting participants emphasized the importance of close coordination between Moscow and Caracas in international affairs, including within the framework of international platforms, primarily at the UN.
The meeting participants also noted the most urgent task of consolidating progressive forces to counter the aggressive actions of the Western states led by the United States of America and their attempts to hamper the process of transition to a multipolar world order.
Answering a relevant question, Ivan Melnikov recalled the history of the conflict with Ukraine and outlined the position of the Russian Federation.
The meeting took place in a warm, friendly atmosphere.
