Vyacheslav Volodin: the USA lost the support of the majority of the countries in the world

The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
on his Telegram channel.

“First of all, in the beginning of March, the UN General Assembly considered the resolution condemning Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. 40 countries refused to support it, including China, India, Iran, Iraq, Vietnam, the Republic of South Africa, Algeria, Pakistan and others. The population of these states is 4.47 billion people and that is 57.3% of the world's population,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.

Vyacheslav Volodin gave another example of the situation when the issue of suspending Russia's membership in the UN Human Rights Council was considered in April. Then 82 countries did not vote against Russia (China, India, Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, UAE, Mexico, South Africa, Malaysia, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Kenya and others). And this is 5.93 billion people and that is 76.2% of the world's population.

“As we can see, those resolutions adopted at the UN by a majority of votes, in reality, are supported by minority,” Vyacheslav Volodin stressed.

The Chairman of the State Duma added that could be a reason why Joe Biden wanted to reform the UN in order to maintain the position of the United States. “He desperately wants to preserve the unipolar model, which has become obsolete,” he added.

“In this regard, we should understand that when they discuss the positions of our country, the majority of the world's population is on our side. All attempts by Washington and Brussels to isolate Russia have failed,” concluded Vyacheslav Volodin.
