Vyacheslav Volodin: people of DPR and LPR made their own decisions in a referendum eight years ago

Vyacheslav Volodin

“Eight years ago, self-determination referendums were held in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.

After the coup d'etat in Ukraine in 2014, the people of Donbass did not want to live under the Kiev anti-people regime. Human rights were ignored in the country, the interests of the citizens of Donbass were not taken into account, the native language was banned, and a rewritten history was imposed.

The citizens of the DPR and LPR made their own decisions in a referendum, freely, democratically, exercised their right to self-determination, they decided to live in independent states.

I wish the citizens of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics happiness, health and prosperity.”
