He posted on his Telegram channel that about 5,000 people died, more than 10,000 were injured and 1,500 towns and villages were destroyed as a result of the bombings. In addition, cluster munitions strikes and missiles tipped with depleted uranium were used during 78 days, as added Vyacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

“None of the leaders of the NATO member states or the United States of America has ever been held accountable. Moreover, the incumbent US President Joe Biden was then a senator and actively supported the bombings and called for the occupation of Yugoslavia. The events of those years are a very special pain for us,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.

Vyacheslav Volodin added that Russia “is proud of its soldiers who made a heroic forced march on Pristina”.

“But we should admit that in 1999 our country, which went through the 1990s devastation and the betrayal of the national elites, did not have sufficient force to help the fraternal peoples of the former Yugoslavia, to protect them from NATO aggression. The situation has changed 23 years later,” he stressed.

The Chairman of the State Duma emphasized that that it was the President of the country Vladimir Putin who turned Russia into a strong and independent state with efficient army.

“We should have stopped the genocide of our citizens and compatriots living in the Donbass. Russia rose to defend the Russian world. So that later we would not feel pain and be ashamed,” he added.
