Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Russia would no longer participate in the Council of Europe due to the subversive actions carried out by the Western states. The Ministry stressed that the unfriendly EU and NATO states had abused their absolute majority positions on the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, continued the line of destroying the Council and the entire humanitarian and legal space in Europe.

“The Council of Europe used to be the most important international platform for equal dialogue and it has turned into a puppet structure used to promote flagrant Russophobic attitude. There was no dialogue at all. You should also remember imposition of LGBT values and attempts to destroy the institution of the family at the interstate level. Russia does not fit in with their vision of the world in any way, we will never accept Western values. Let them stew in their own juice. Without us,” said Petr Tolstoy Tolstoy Petr Olegovich Tolstoy

The head of the Russian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) thanked all his colleagues — senators and members of the State Duma, who tried to convince the Europeans “of the need to take into account the interests of Russia and Russian people in Europe.”

“We honestly tried to discuss human rights issues: the rights of Russians in Ukraine, the right of Donbas residents to live without shelling, the rights of people living in Crimean to freedom of choice and access to water. But the Council of Europe ignored our calls for dialogue, only the hysterical Russophobic minority of pugs who tried to bite Russia were supported. You awakened us. Thank you. Now we ourselves will put things in order where we should do that. Pugs, please do not get in the way,” the parliamentarian stressed.
