“We have been witnessing hysteria around Ukraine in recent months. Members of the US Congress and representatives of the US Department of State are trying to scare the whole world telling about alleged upcoming Russia’s invasion. It is quite obvious that Washington is trying to justify its expansion and the advance of NATO troops further to the Russian borders,” said the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

He added that NATO continued to use the same methods: at first they create an image of the enemy, and then “heroically” fight with the enemy. The Chairman of the State Duma recalled that the same methods were used in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Yugoslavia.

“There is nothing new. All these things can be considered as information preparation for NATO's advance further in Ukrainian territory. Their advisers and instructors are already there, and now they need a reason for justification of deployment of troops. In other words, NATO aims to occupy Ukraine,” Vyacheslav Volodin said.

He is convinced that the dialogue on security guarantees is very important in this regard.

“We must do everything to preserve the peace. And this issue of preserving peace is very important, because we cannot allow NATO to send its troops to Ukraine. This is a matter of security of our citizens, a matter of security of citizens of European states,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.

Vyacheslav Volodin stressed that the task of the members of the State Duma “is to prevent a terrible tragedy, as the world is almost on the brink of such tragedy”.

“In this regard, we should inform all parliaments so that they recognize their responsibility and understand the consequences. Russia is ready to react, but you should understand the consequences. Colleagues, we advocate for peace, for friendship, for development of relations on the principles of mutual respect and support. And we will follow that approach,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
