The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
in “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” TV programme.

Answering a question about the recent events in Kazakhstan and actions of the CSTO mission there, he said that the US authorities “should ask themselves why they were not requested to provide assistance.”

“Is there at least one state which asked the USA for help and has not lost its statehood or has turned into a prosperous state? Can you tell the name of such state? Probably, many states that asked the United States of America for help, now regret, because they lost the country and economy, and now have only problems,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.

“Libya was a prosperous state and there were no internal problems in Iraq. And you see what is happening in Ukraine. That was their help. There are different advisors and NATO representatives there and that will do no good,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.
