He said that commenting on the restrictions on freedom of movement of Russian parliamentarians in Strasbourg during the PACE session due to the fact that the EU does not recognize Sputnik V vaccine certificates.

He added that the Russian delegation expressed concern over the situation and asked the Council of Europe to address the French authorities to prevent COVID-19 vaccines segregation of national delegations.

The parliamentarian said that French authorities divided all countries into different zones not on the basis of the rate of infection and potential danger of foreigners, but on the vaccine basis.

“Russia is included in red list, since AstraZeneca, Moderna or Pfizer vaccines are not used in Russia. On the one hand, these restrictions were imposed by the French authorities, but on the other hand, vaccine discrimination takes place with the connivance and tacit approval of the Council of Europe,” stressed Petr Tolstoy.

“Meanwhile, Russia establishes normal conditions for work for all Europeans who come there and we do not bring them into quarantine,” said the parliamentarian.
