The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
answered to the question of the RT journalist
on the possible interference of foreign states in the upcoming elections as ”they will do that.“
“And we should take it into account. There could not be another way. The United States of America and the Western states will definitely try again to do everything possible to support more loyal political forces, those politicians who will promote their interests. And, of course, those states will do everything possible to weaken the existing authorities in the Russian Federation, as the current situation is not good for them, because our country is developing, defending its interests and strengthening its sovereignty,” he added.
The Chairman of the State Duma also recalled the events that took place in other countries, in particular in Libya and Yugoslavia and added that there could be the same situation in Russia.
“That should be a lesson for us what could possibly happen in Russia, if we do not continue to strengthen our sovereignty, do not fight or win economic competition,” he said.
Viacheslav Volodin also stressed the need to take necessary to protect the results of the elections, made by the Russian people, as they are the source of power in the country.
