The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
stressed that Western states would try to make “new accusations against us, if Russia continue to develop.“

“If there is development, there will be new attacks. If there is no development, there will be no need in our state. If there will be no country, everyone will forget about that. But this is a real tragedy, we should prevent that,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.

He noted the fact that the first accusations were made when Russia began to develop and strengthen its position in the world arena. “There was a blockade and imposition of sanctions. We have overcome the effect of sanctions. Then there will be new different challenges, and our system should not only respond to [them], but also be ready to address new challenges that definitely will appear in the future,” added Viacheslav Volodin.

The Chairman of the State Duma recalled that when Visa and MasterCard became tools for political pressure, Russian national payment system called “Mir” was created. “That is really great that we created it in advance,” he said.

He added that sanctions made Russia do that, “as we, all the people of the world, thought that such things like payment systems, big IT companies, were assets of humanity and all people should be able to use them“.

“But it turned out that there are “some drivers”, which are very actively used to create problems for some states, while other states would benefit from that. Of course, there is only one winner, who takes it all and creates rules — the United States of America,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.

“When we talk about dollars, we should remember that there is a “machine” there, and they can influence and manipulate. And the “money printing machine” is located in the USA. We should understand that,” said Viacheslav Volodin.

“It is great that our Government is taking completely reasonable, strategically verified measures, reducing dependence on the dollar,” he said. The Chairman of the State Duma also noted the role of the Central Bank in addressing possible challenges related to the payment systems.
