Earlier, the Kiev city administration made a decision to change names of a number of streets in the Ukrainian capital. The street named after the first woman in space, member of the State Duma Valentina Tereshkova is also planned to be renamed.

The Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin said that the Ukrainian authorities “are systematically trying to destroy everything that the multinational Ukrainian people have.”

“At first, Russians, Hungarians, Poles, Romanians, Moldavians were deprived of the right to speak their native language. Then, they tried to destroy the Orthodox Church and and tried to offer something that was not supported. They rewrote history, created some events that allegedly occurred many centuries ago. And prefer not to recognize the facts that took place later. Now they are trying to destroy the achievements of the Soviet period,” wrote the Chairman of the State Duma in his Telegram channel.

He is convinced that these are just attempts to hold onto power.

“But at what cost? The people without their history, religion, right to speak native language, will never forgive those who have done that to them,” added Viacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

He recalled that streets named after Valentina Tereshkova could be found not only in Ukraine, but also in many other countries of the world.

“There is no need to prove her achievements. Many countries and nations recognize her achievements. And Mr. Zelensky and Mr. Klitschko, apparently, are trying to succeed that way. But that way is wrong. Moreover, it is dangerous. The torn economic relations could be restored. But something like that will definitely not be forgotten,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.
