The Deputy Chairman of the State Duma noted the need to enhance cooperation between the State Duma and the State Great Khural. “Russia-Mongolia cooperation has great potential and good development perspectives, including in the parliamentary framework,” he said. “Closer contacts between the State Duma and the Great Khural will help to bring the positions of our countries closer, give an impetus to the enhancement of the inter-parliamentary dialogue to solve specific tasks at the legislative level”.
The Russian side proposed to create an Inter-parliamentary Commission in addition to the Russia-Mongolia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, establishing close cooperation at the level of the federal legislative assemblies. Such a Commission could give several additional positive feedbacks regarding the solutions of the most important, most urgent issues of bilateral cooperation.
