”We consider the resolution of the European Parliament on the situation related to the alleged poisoning of Alexey Navalny, and containing proposal to adopt a ‘strategy of democratization’ of Russia demanding to repeal amendments to the Constitution, as a direct and blatant interference in the internal affairs of our state,“ stressed Leonid Slutskiy Slutsky Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky

He stressed that the members of the European Parliament had confirmed that way that the situation with the patient of the Charité clinic was just a provocation. “That act is being played out in order to deter Russia, first of all, in the economic sphere, as well as to try to influence our foreign policy,” said the Chairman of the Committee.

”This is not protection of human rights or democracy, all these things take place to fuel anti-Russian hysteria, including in relation to the Nord Stream 2 project,“ stressed Leonid Slutskiy.

”All those calls for new sanctions and independent investigation (and, of course, nobody is going to provide response to all Russia’s requests about Alexey Navalny) are aimed only at increasing Russophobia just to promote someone’s vested interests,“ he said.

”Resolutions of the European Parliament are of recommendatory nature and are not binding. There is a slight hope that right-thinking politicians who make key decisions in the EU states will not take into account politicized and not corresponding to reality assessments of European parliamentarians,“ concluded Leonid Slutskiy.
