Viacheslav Volodin: The Union State has many development prospects and integration opportunities in various areas

”Politicians and experts are actively discussing the further development of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. There are attempts to question its usefulness. I would like to remind them that the decision on establishment of the Union State was taken more than 20 years ago. A unique integration of union state was supposed to be created. ”A lot of has been done to ensure equal rights of citizens of Belarus and Russia: whether entering universities or applying for a job or solving pension issues. We are not foreigners for each other, we are fraternal peoples,“ he stressed.

In addition, as Viacheslav Volodin recalled, ”thousands of joint ventures have been created and are successfully operating, and the border regions are interacting. We define our joint priorities in economic policy and promote mutual investment in various sectors of the economy. Much has been done within a framework of the executive structures of the Union State for coordination of integration roadmaps.

”We have common priorities of defense policy, we protect together the borders of the Union State and the airspace,“ stressed Viacheslav Volodin.

“That is the basis of the Union State, bringing together fraternal peoples with a centuries-old common history. We need to value this and do everything for the progressive development of our relations. The Union State of Belarus and Russia serves the interests of our nations, and further integration will remain our priority,” he said.
