commented on a statement of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community of the Federal Republic of Germany on possible imposition of sanctions against Russia due to allegations in cyber attacks.

“We are talking about events that took place five years ago, no evidence has been presented, there are only unfounded allegations. This is such a post-pandemic attempt to go back to the way things were in the Western states, where Russia is absolutely unjustly blamed for everything on the basis of mere speculation,” he said.

According to the parliamentarian, if Berlin decided to impose any new sanctions, that would be an unconscious and destructive step, an “artificial irritant” in relations between our two states.

“In fact, there are calls on the parliamentary level and in business community in Germany for the restoration of dialogue and abandonment of the restriction policy. The official authorities, in my opinion, should listen to the voices of sensible politicians and businessmen,” stressed Leonid Slutskiy.
