said that his Committee is in constant contact with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova on violation of the rights of Russian citizens abroad, including the case of Alexander Vinnik.

“Of course, we will carefully review her appeal, we will raise this topic on various platforms and in the framework of interparliamentary contacts, regardless of the coronavirus pandemic,” the parliamentarian said.

The case of Alexander Vinnik Leonid Slutskiy called outrageous.

“We continue to consider his extradition to France, where proper detention conditions cannot be provided to him, unlawful. The Russian side has repeatedly demanded the return of the Russian citizen to his homeland, and our position remains unchanged,” he stressed.

“We are not going to sit back here. The Committee pays special attention to the support of Russian citizens who are in trouble far from their homeland, and it initiates the development of a state system of assistance in such cases. The situation with Alexander Vinnik as well as with Olesya Krasilova and our other fellow citizens abroad is without a doubt the subject of our closest attention and reaction,” concluded Leonid Slutskiy.

Alexander Vinnik is a Russian IT specialist. He was arrested in Greece in 2017 at the request of the United States of America, where he is accused of violation of US legislation and the creation of cryptocurrency exchange, through which, according to the United States, billions of dollars were laundered, without a license from the American authorities.
