“We have witnessed a massive campaign in the Western media either about the upcoming self-dissolution of the State Duma or about the upcoming snap parliamentary and presidential elections,” he said.

The parliamentarian emphasized that such information is disseminated, as a rule, with reference to anonymous sources. “An additional mystery and imaginary authenticity are created around them. But in fact, we are dealing with the deliberate spreading of rumors and speculations, which can only be called as interference in our internal affairs,” said Vasiii Piskarev, adding that, in particular, he was talking about the Bloomberg media company.

Earlier the Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

said at a plenary meeting that those issues raised by the media are “absolutely contrived, just fake”.

“There are standards: numbers, facts, two opinions. Where? Where are those people who told them this? Why cannot they name them? We have accredited them and what should we do with them? If such situation took place in the US or British Parliament, it is clear what would happen to them,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
