side in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe,” he said.
“We will not see our participation in the Parliamentary Assembly in the future if the rights of our delegation are violated and there is some kind of discrimination against our country,” the Chairman of the State Duma emphasized once again.
He also called the beginning of relations with colleagues from the British Parliament a breakthrough. Earlier a meeting of Viacheslav Volodin and members of the House of Lords of the British Parliament was held in Moscow. This was the first visit of members of the British Parliament to the State Duma after a long break. At the invitation of the Chairman of the State Duma, members of the House of Lords of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, The Viscount Waverley, The Lord Balfe, and The Rt Hon. the Lord Browne of Ladyton, arrived in Russia.
“This is the beginning of the dialogue. This is the way to search for opportunities to take steps towards each other,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
In addition, a dialogue with Ukrainian parliamentarians began. Negotiations between the Chairman of the State Duma and Chairman of the Inter-Factional Parliamentary Association of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ”Inter-Parliamentary Dialogue for Peace: Ukraine-Russia-Germany-France” Viktor Medvedchuk were held in the State Duma. The parties discussed the parliamentary dimension format, within which they will discuss the implementation of the Minsk Agreements in the Normandy format.
“Perhaps there will be a result of this. Why am I saying — perhaps? Because everything is not easy, these nationalist circles are the forces that want to continue to have an alarming situation and tension in Ukraine, and to prolong it as long as possible,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
“It is a goal that is realized by the United States of America in Ukraine. And it achieved its goal: in fact, it destroyed the once prosperous Ukraine,” he said.
