The first meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will be held on December 11in Moscow.
The agenda includes issues of the development of Russian-Vietnamese relations, legislative support of bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, security, digital economy, regional cooperation and cultural and humanitarian interaction.

Viacheslav Volodin suggested creating a high-level Inter-parliamentary Commission during a meeting with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyễn Phú Trọng, which took place on September 7, 2018.
The agreement on the establishment of the Commission was signed by the Chairman of the State Duma and the Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam on December 24, 2018, during the official visit of the Russian delegation to Hanoi.
”We are reaching a new level of development of the inter-parliamentary dimension. It is marked by the fact that we are creating new formats of interaction with discussion of issues and reaching concrete solutions,“ stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.
The recent meeting between Viacheslav Volodin and Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân took place on April 7, 2019, on the sidelines of the 140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Qatar.
