Leonid Eduardovich stressed that the United States has been waging a so-called “visa war” against Russian people, creating more and more obstacles for Russian representatives who go to participate in international events in the United States.

The parliamentarian said that his passport is still in the American Embassy after a number of members of the Russian delegation, who were supposed to take part in the UN General Assembly, had not been granted visas without any explanation.

“The United States has proven to be an unfair partner in organizing multilateral formats. And that happened not for the first time,” said the parliamentarian. “The recent case of the failure to issue visas to the delegation of the Federal Treasury only confirms this negative trend and aggravates the situation. Of course, this is another serious setback for our bilateral relations,” added the Chairman of the Committee.

According to Leonid Slutskiy, it is necessary to think again about the value of holding international events in the United States, including the UN events.
