Vyacheslav Victorovich
The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
conveyed warm greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Thanks
to your friendship, relations between our countries are developing,” he said.
“Russia
is a key partner,” said Emomali Rahmon. “And inter-parliamentary relations will
contribute to the development of our relations,” added the President.
“Your
visit to the State Duma gave an impetus to the development of relations,” Viacheslav
Volodin addressed Emomali Rakhmon, adding that “we began to communicate more
within the parliamentary dimension.”
“Economic
relations are developing effectively: over the past year, trade has grown by almost 25%,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
Viacheslav
Volodin and Emomali Rahmon also discussed issues of joint counteraction to challenges and threats in the region.
According to Viacheslav Volodin, this is especially important to discuss in Dushanbe, since “the region borders with Afghanistan,” and countries within the CSTO PA can discuss joint actions to counter terrorism.
He did
not rule out that Tajikistan will host the CSTO PA next year.
“In November, at a meeting of the CSTO PA in Yerevan, we will discuss the holding
of the next session of the CSTO PA in Dushanbe with colleagues,” the Chairman
of the State Duma said.
Emomali
Rahmon invited Viacheslav Volodin to visit Tajikistan again.
“Relations
between Russia and Tajikistan are developing dynamically thanks to the presidents of our countries. Emomali Sharipovich does a lot for humanitarian
cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan, promotion of educational projects,
including of the Russian language. It is especially important that the Constitution of Tajikistan establishes the status of the Russian language as a language of interethnic communication. We expect the successful completion of the construction project of building five Russian-language schools in Tajikistan in the coming years,” said Viacheslav Volodin following the meeting.
