The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
noted the significant contribution of the presidents of our countries
to the development of relations between Russia and Kazakhstan, especially he
emphasized the role of the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev
in the development of Eurasian cooperation.
“The trust of partners in each other is the basis of the Eurasian cooperation. And when important topics are discussed in Europe, but there are double standards and a figure is kept in a pocket, this will not lead to anything good,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
He emphasized that ”today for the first time in the framework of the parliamentary dimension there is a huge interest to the Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments from the speakers of European parliaments.“ This proves how popular this format is.
Viacheslav Volodin emphasized that the decision to create the EAEU required amendments to 48 federal laws, 44 government acts, and about 10 decrees of the President. He pointed out the need for further harmonization of legislation in the framework of Eurasian cooperation, as well as the development of interregional cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan. He called the ratification of the Convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea another step towards each other.
Nurlan Nigmatulin noted the special role of parliamentarians of the Russian Federation and personally Viacheslav Volodin in the work of the Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments.
“The active position of the Russian parliamentarians made it possible to make the 4th Meeting such a representative format,” he said and noted that representatives of more than 60 states, 41 parliament speakers and 14 international and inter-parliamentary organizations would take part in the event. “This is an active dialogue platform that is expanding, and that’s exactly what you should do in the 21st century”, Nurlan Nigmatulin believes. He also expressed gratitude for the work of the CSTO PA observers at the last presidential election in Kazakhstan.
In Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the State Duma will take part in the 4th Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments, as well as hold several bilateral
meetings. The topic of the Meeting is “Greater Eurasia: Dialogue. Trust.
Partnership.“
