, Chairman of the State Duma’s Commission on Investigation of Foreign Interference in the Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, expressed his position regarding the statement by the US ambassador to Russia, Jon M. Huntsman, on his readiness to provide clarification in connection with the publication of the exact route of the unauthorized rally on the embassy’s social media in Moscow on August 3.

“We sent a letter to Mr. Huntsman, but considering that his office address has changed, apparently, he did not receive it. It is good that he declared his desire to meet and provide explanations to the Commission on Investigation of Foreign Interference in the Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. I hope that soon we will determine the date of the meeting of the Commission, to which Mr. Huntsman will be invited so that we can ask questions about the interference of the US Embassy in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation.

Mr. Huntsman expressed his version of the appearance of the exact route of the participants of the unauthorized rally on the official account of the US Embassy. It sounded unconvincing. We asked the Department of International Cooperation of the State Duma to discuss a possible date of the participation of Ambassador Huntsman in a meeting of the Commission with the US Embassy,” said Vasilii Piskarev.
