The Council of the State Duma will consider the issue of suspending import of wine and mineral water from Georgia, as well as remittances ban. Leaders and representatives of the factions of the State Duma told parliamentary journalists about that.

The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
earlier noted that the tension will continue to be escalated by a group of radicals and their Western handlers, as they expect
to come to power that way.
“The situation in Georgia is worsening. The radical forces in Georgia need constant provocation of the conflict with Russia, destabilization of the political situation, which goal is to overthrow the current government,” the Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin told parliamentary journalists.

stressed that “we see how various violent elements attack our tourists,
stop our cars, and tear St. George ribbons. We believe that such actions are
unacceptable, and today, at the Council of the State Duma, we will raise the issue of suspending import of wine and mineral water from Georgia and banning remittances
to the Republic of Georgia. ”
In his opinion, unfriendly actions against Russian citizens and Russia should be adequately assessed.
The Committee on International Affairs supports the initiative to suspend import of wine and mineral water from Georgia, as well as the limit of remittances, as said the Chairman of the Committee Leonid Slutskiy

.
“It is possible that our executive branch will take additional decisions. Because that what happened (insults against the President of the Russian Federation by the Georgian journalist – editorial note) is beyond good and evil,” he added, stressing that if there were a decision to impose more stringent measures, the parliamentarians would also support them.
Leonid Slutskiy did not exclude that the topic will be discussed at the plenary session the next day.
“Just Russia faction
believes that the anti-Russian Bacchanalia, which began in Georgia and continues
to take place, deserves an adequate response. Georgian friends should
understand whether they are interested in good relations with the Russian
Federation or not. You cannot straddle both worlds. On the one hand, they want
to sell wine to Russia, get our tourists, export mineral water, and on the other hand, they offence our country, our parliamentarians, officials, and at the same time pretend that they want to be friends with us,” said the First deputy
head of the Just Russia faction Mikhail Emelianov

.
He added that “a ban on the import of wine and mineral water from Georgia and ban on sending money from Russia to Georgia are completely urgent.” Also, Mikhail Emelianov proposed to introduce “some specific measures” against the Georgian TV channel Rustavi.

said that “the situation in Georgia is developing according to a dramatic scenario; it has
been developing for so long, primarily, under the guidance of American handlers.”
“Today, those who do not love Georgia, who hate Russia, who try to do their best to turn our nationals against each other, dominate [in Georgian politics]. It will be impossible to turn our nationals against each other — I think it will affect those who work, especially, small and medium-sized business. But I am a supporter of punishing and dealing with those who make hostile propaganda or simply in a brutish way, completely undignified comments on some events. It is beyond any comments what was on their TV screens yesterday,” said Gennady Zyuganov and noted that “we should continue our work on strengthening ties with the people of Georgia. We have both economic and production opportunities for that.”
“We must adopt the firmest possible measures. We are tired of these insults,” said Vladimir Zhirinovskii Zhirinovsky
Vladimir Volfovich , leader of the LDPR faction.
He stated that “it is necessary to stop any tourist trips to Georgia.”
“The country is hostile to us, especially spiritually, in relation to the Russian people. Stop postal orders, stop buying any Georgian wine, any other goods,” said Vladimir Zhirinovskii, and also he called for the suspension of flights between the countries.
“Georgia has no future without remittances from Russia, without trade relations with Russia,” he stressed.
