Andrej Danko congratulated Russia on returning to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and noted that the Russian Federation should participate in the discussion and resolution of global problems and common challenges.

“We are pleased that Russia can again take the full-fledged part in the PACE work. Europe needs Russia, and I am glad that the votes of Slovak parliamentarians contributed to this,” he said and stressed that without a dialogue with the Russian Federation, it is impossible to solve the main problems of our time.

Moreover, Andrej Danko believes that such events as the International Forum “Development of Parliamentarism” show that Russia is ready for a comprehensive dialogue with all countries.

Andrej Danko also told journalists on the sidelines of the Forum that it is always a great honor for him to visit Russia.

“The Russian Federation is an example of how nations and nationalities can coexist together, and Russia greatly contributes to the preservation of world peace,” he said.

“Once again I would like to express gratitude to the Russian Federation for all the initiatives that it offers. This Forum, where decisions can be made in such spheres as the fight against cyber threats, as well as initiatives on solving local conflicts can be discussed, is one of them. And I believe that we can use the experience of the Russian Federation,” added Andrej Danko.

He also stated that he would be happy to take part in the Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries' Parliaments, which will be held in Kazakhstan in September.

The 2nd International Forum ”Development of Parliamentarism“ is held on the initiative of the State Duma on July 1–3. This year, representatives of 132 countries have arrived at the Forum. About 800 foreign guests and delegations from 14 international parliamentary organizations take part in the events. 41 speakers representing the national parliaments participate in the Forum.

The Forum will also host the Russia-Africa parliamentary conference.
