On July 1–3 the 2nd International Forum ”Development of Parliamentarism“ will be held in Moscow.
The large-scale event was initiated by the State Duma.

Interest of parliamentarians, the expert community and the media in the Forum is growing. This year, guests from 132 countries, about 800 parliamentarians and experts, will arrive in Moscow. The Forum will be attended by 41 speakers of national parliaments.
Delegations of 14 inter-parliamentary organizations will come, 7 of them are headed by leaders, in particular, IPU President Gabriela Cuevas Barron, President of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Şentop, President of the Pan-African Parliament Roger Nkodo Dang, and President of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference Jörgen Pettersson.
Moreover, well-known European parliamentarians will take part in the event: PACE leaders of different years — PACE President from 2005 to 2008 Rene van der Linden, PACE President from 2016 to 2017 and Spanish Senate member Pedro Agramunt, Honorary President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Ilkka Kanerva and Co-Chairman of the Association “French-Russian Dialogue” Thierry Mariani.
More than 400 Russian and foreign journalists have been accredited to the Forum.
The program includes topical issues on international security and stability, the development of a digital economy, youth and environmental policies. Within the framework of the Forum the Russia-Africa parliamentary conference will take place.

The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
with the heads of a number of foreign parliaments are also scheduled on the sidelines of the Forum.
The Second Forum will be held in the International Trade Center in Moscow. The event will be opened by Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin. Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov are expected to address participants.
The First International Forum ”Development of Parliamentarism“ was held upon initiative of Viacheslav Volodin in Moscow on June 4–5, 2018.
