“Guards escorted us out of the building,” said the parliamentarian. He is now in Georgia at the meeting of the 26th IAO General Assembly.

Sergei Gavrilov said that on the eve of the arrival of the Russian parliamentarians fake accusations of Sergei Gavrilov of participation in the wars in Abkhazia and Transnistria were spread. In his turn, Sergei Gavrilov denied all the accusations stating that he had never participated in any kind of military conflicts. He noted that ”Russia and Georgia are united by fraternal Orthodox ties.“

The parliamentarian also noted that in the near future the participants of the General Assembly will discuss how to continue the fouled-up meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy.
