He noted that within an hour the Council of the State Duma will review the draft law and determine the date of its review at the plenary meeting.

In accordance with the draft law, the President is granted the right to decide on the renewal of the treaty. The bill will entry into force from the moment of its official publication.

The Treaty between the USSR and the USA was signed in Washington on December 8, 1987. Since February 2, 2019, the USA has suspended its fulfillment of obligations under the INF Treaty. “Taking such decision, the USA is destroying the global security architecture, which has been created for decades,” said the Chairman of the State Duma at that time.
