The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
told reporters.

“The decision of the President has humanitarian nature. It is aimed at protection of the rights of citizens living on these territories. Military operations continue there, people are dying. In this situation, this is the right decision,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.

“The presidential decree was adopted in strict compliance with the norms of international law. The Ukrainian leadership continues to evade fulfilling its obligations towards its own citizens and does not comply with the provisions of the Minsk agreements,” he said.

Commenting on the statement of the election team of Vladimir Zelensky, Viacheslav Volodin noted that “after the elections, the election team ceases its operation, which is associated exclusively with the election campaign. It would be right for the person who was elected by the citizens to speak. It is important that bloodshed in south-eastern Ukraine be stopped as soon as possible.”
