The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
will pay an official visit to the State of Qatar (Doha), where the 140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) will be held.
The Chairman of the State Duma will take part in the events of the 140th IPU Assembly and will deliver a speech at the plenary session.
During the visit, the Chairman of the State Duma will meet with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Speaker of the Advisory Council of Qatar, Ahmad Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid AL Mahmoud.
The 137th IPU Assembly was held in St. Petersburg on October 14–18, 2017.
On October 8, 2018, within the framework of the Third Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments in Antalya, Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin met with the Speaker of the Advisory Council of the State of Qatar, Ahmad Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid AL Mahmoud.
The parties discussed issues of cyber-security and economic cooperation between the two countries.
On June 4, 2018, on the margins of the International Forum “Development of Parliamentarism” in Moscow, Viacheslav Volodin also met with Ahmad Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid AL Mahmoud.
