, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, believes that the preliminary results of voting in the presidential elections in Ukraine, where comedian Vladimir Zelensky is almost twice ahead of the current President Petr Poroshenko, confirm the failure of the policy of the head of state that came to power as a result of a coup.

“Neither the pre-election provocation in the Kerch Strait followed by anti-Russian sanctions, nor the patronage of the western “tutors” helped [President of Ukraine Petr] Poroshenko to have a convincing victory in the first round of the presidential elections,” he said.

At the same time, according to Leonid Slutskiy, “Petr Poroshenko may go to the second round but exclusively thanks to the administrative resource and various frauds.”

“In any case, the elections preliminary results confirm the failure of the policy of the “Maidan” President, who came to power as a result of a coup and who carries on a war with his own people. Now, the acting head of state gives up almost half the votes to comedian and showman [Vladimir] Zelensky. Let’s wait for the final results,” the parliamentarian summarized.
