Sylvie Bermann noted at the meeting that when the chairmanship is passed to France in PACE, they will make every effort to restore credentials of the delegation of Russian Federation in the organization and will facilitate the normalization of relations with Russia.
The meeting participants also discussed the internal political processes, the election campaign, as well as the place of the Communist Party in the political system of Russia and its interaction with political parties. The problems of demographic policy were also raised during the meeting.
A number of questions concerned the interaction of governors-representatives of the Communist Party with representatives of other parties in the formation and functioning of regional legislative and executive authorities.
At the same time, the French side expressed considerable interest in the aspects of the reforms undertaken by the government of the country.

Gennady Andreyevich stressed that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation at all levels consistently defends the interests of working people and offers its socially oriented programme for the economic development of the country.
