commented on the PACE resolution on the incident in the Kerch Strait.
“This is an expected PACE “made-to-order” resolution. The Assembly, where we are not present, takes the decision of an anti-Russian character at the suggestion of those who were behind all this provocation in the Kerch Strait in December.
We foresaw that last year’s situation in the Sea of Azov would be brought up for an urgent PACE debate. It turns out that there was no more “urgent” issue with all the complexity of the PACE international agenda.
All the populist clichés and assessments of the incident in the Kerch Strait, which have already been repeatedly heard from the western curators of Kiev, are generally caricatured by the PACE. A structure that does not comply with either the Statute of the Council of Europe or its democratic principles with regard to national delegations continues to teach Russia the basis of law. It is not even worth saying that the main appeals of this resolution are pressure on the judicial authorities and they have a very small significance from a legal point of view.
However, all this once again proves the destructiveness of the majority in PACE in relation to Russia and speaks about the correctness of our decisions to refuse to send the delegation of the Russian Federation to the Assembly session in January 2019. ”
