The 27th session of the Forum began with a greeting from Mr. Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Chairman of the current session of the APPF.
Then the Russian delegation met with Mrs. Khuon Sodary, the second Vice-President of the National Assembly and the Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Council of Women. The parliamentarian thanked Olga Epifanova

, who assumed the co-chairmanship at the meeting of women parliamentarians. This event has become a permanent body of the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum.
The forum is attended by 27 countries, among them: Russia, the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Japan, the USA, Indonesia, Canada, Cambodia, China, Singapore, and others.
The objectives of the APPF are to expand cooperation between the participating countries in order to ensure peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, facilitate trade and investment, establish regional cooperation in such areas as environmental protection, countering transnational crime and terrorism, exchanges within cultural and educational cooperation.
