commented on the statement of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the expansion of the sanctions list against the Russian Federation.

Dmitrii Novikov said that such measures imposed by Mr. Poroshenko are another step in the information and political war against Russia.

“The informational and political war that Mr. Poroshenko is waging against the Russian Federation requires constantly throwing some new facts and circumstances into this fire. Even if they need to be used as quote unquote things. They almost ran of imagination, it is difficult to invent any new claims for the Russian side,” the parliamentarian said.

The member of the State Duma also noted that the principle of the Ukrainian side that Russian parliamentarians will be included in the sanctions list is unclear.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced at the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council an introduction of a new sanctions against Russia. “A draft decision on application of sanctions of Ukraine for the illegal elections in the occupied territories in the East of our country for aggression against our state in the Black sea near the Kerch Strait, who had attacked our ships, those who were involved in the illegal trials, to arrest those who gave the orders, has been adopted,” said the Ukrainian leader.

At the same time, he noted: “Since we see political support and participation of the State Duma in this process, a significant number of members of the State Duma, including from United Russia and the Liberal Democratic Party, should be included in the sanctions list”.
