He also expressed gratitude to the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam for his visit to Russia in September.
“We are grateful because after our conversation we were able to build relations more actively at the parliamentary level,” Viacheslav Volodin stressed.
He recalled that an agreement was signed on the establishment of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission between the State Duma and the National Assembly of Vietnam had been signed that day. “We believe that with a help of this new format we will be able to achieve concrete results,” said Chairman of the State Duma. He added that it is possible to discuss the creation of model laws, addressing common challenges, the development of the digital economy, the fight against corruption, terrorism, ensuring the implementation of decisions taken at the leadership level of the two countries in the framework of the Commission.
The establishment of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission will benefit the solution of the tasks of developing relations between our countries in various fields, Nguyễn Phú Trọng noted.
“The delegation of the State Duma includes representatives of all political factions. And we are united in our views on the development of relations with Vietnam. This cooperation should be based on principles of friendship and mutual respect,” said Chairman of the State Duma.
