The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
arrived in Iran to participate in the 2nd Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Russia and Turkey on counter-terrorism and strengthening of regional cooperation.
The event will be held in Tehran. Parliamentarians will discuss the experience of legislative regulation and modern strategies of the fight against terrorism, as well as issues of strengthening interregional cooperation. At the end of the conference, a declaration will be adopted.
Bilateral meetings of the Chairman of the State Duma with the speakers of the parliaments of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Turkey will take place on the margins of the Conference.
Upon arrival in Iran, Viacheslav Volodin had a brief meeting with Deputy Speaker of the National Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Motahari
The first regional conference of the heads of parliaments (chambers of parliaments) on counter-terrorism and inter-regional cooperation was held in Islamabad, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on December 24, 2017.
