Leonid Eduardovich said that the visit of President of the lower chamber of the French Parliament, the National Assembly, Richard Ferrand is really under consideration. The parliamentarian added that it is expected that it may take place in the spring of 2019. “We expect the meetings of High Russian-French Interparliamentary Commission will be resumed at the same time. We have a lot of topics for bilateral negotiations”, Leonid Slutskiy stated.

High Russian-French Interparliamentary commission was established on October 24, 1995. In accordance with the Charter, the Commission meets annually. The composition of the Commission is determined by the agenda up to 10 members from each side. The co-chairs of the Commission are the chairmen of both chambers. The last meeting was held on February 6, 2013.
