stressed that ”we are meeting with you for the third time for less than two months.“
“These meetings are always informative. We discussed issues within the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, before that we met at a Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments, and, of course, our specialized committees are very active,” he said.
The Chairman of the State Duma called for preserving the existing dynamics of inter-parliamentary relations, which is especially important, according to him, in connection with the overall growth of interaction between the two countries. Thus, Viacheslav Volodin noted that the trade turnover between the Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan increased by 30% in 2017. Moreover, it is necessary to develop cooperation in educational and cultural spheres, and humanitarian projects.
”Kyrgyzstan is marked out of many of our other foreign partners, having a special approach to the Russian language, a language that brings us closer. And it is necessary to emphasize that we could do a lot because Kyrgyzstan took this wise decision,“ stressed Viacheslav Volodin.
He noted that ”today drivers have special opportunities that distinguish them from others in receiving driving licenses. This of course allows many Kyrgyz citizens to realize themselves in our country more effectively, finding work and building their lives further, and building our relations further.“
“Parliaments should make their contribution to the development of our relations, ensure legislative support of the reached agreements and, of course, do everything in our power so that the citizens of our countries and our peoples understand each other better,” the Chairman of the State Duma stressed.
“Trust is based on a dialogue, and dialogue is the basis of inter-parliamentary work,” he said.
In his turn Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Dastanbek Jumabekov added that he is “always ready and open for a comprehensive and confiding dialogue with the State Duma on all areas of Kyrgyz-Russian relations.”
“The upcoming state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan in March 2019 inspires strong confidence in the further development of multifaceted cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Federation in the spirit of cooperation and strategic partnership,” said Dastanbek Jumabekov.
Moreover, during the meeting, the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh noted the importance of the International Forum on the Development of Parliamentarism, held in June, which “attracted the attention of parliamentarians all over the world to the most pressing issues on the international agenda”.
Dastanbek Jumabekov thanked Viacheslav Volodin for his personal contribution to the development and strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, as well as for the fact that the State Duma made a decision allowing citizens of Kyrgyzstan to use their national driving licenses in carrying out entrepreneurial and labor activities in the Russian Federation.
The Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh congratulated the State Duma on the upcoming 25th anniversary of the formation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, stating that ”this is the story of the planned development of parliamentary democracy and diplomacy.“
