and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba Marcelino Medina González held a meeting in the State Duma on October 4.

They gave a high assessment of the Russian-Cuban cooperation in the international arena and interstate cooperation in various spheres.

The parties discussed some issues of bilateral relations with a focus on inter-parliamentary relations. In particular, it was suggested that after the adoption of a new constitution in Cuba, it would be expedient to intensify contacts between the relevant committees of the parliaments of the two countries in order to enhance the exchange of experience and information on state-building and legislation.

Marcelino Medina González thanked the State Duma members for their immutable fundamental position on condemning the American policy of financial and economic blockade of Cuba at various international platforms, primarily in the UN.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Russian Federation Gerardo Peñalver Portal also took part in the meeting.
