Foreigners, who are members of extremist organizations, will be banned from entering the Russian Federation

The initiative was adopted by the State Duma in the third reading. Entry into the territory of Russia will be banned for foreigners or stateless persons if they are members of an association included in the list of organizations involved in extremist activities or terrorism

According to the adopted law, entry will be also banned if an interdepartmental coordinating body that counters the financing of terrorism has decided to freeze money or other property of that foreigner or stateless person or if there is a court decision on suspension of operations on bank accounts and other transactions with money or other property of this citizen until the respective decision is abolished.

As it was explained in the explanatory note, restriction of human rights and freedoms is allowed only if there are relative and sufficient grounds for such restriction, and also if a balance between the legitimate interests of the person whose rights and freedoms are restricted and the legitimate interests of other persons, state, society is observed.
