success“. Viacheslav Volodin noted that the country hosted the World Cup
not only in Moscow but also in other regions of Russia.

witnessed ”a historic event, the best World Cup in the history of sports“. He noted that the assessment of the Cup was given by the leaders of national teams, players, coaches, and others. ”According to FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Director of the FIFA Department for the World Cup Colin Smith, the World Cup in Russia was held in a stunning
atmosphere and on the highest level,“ the parliamentarian said. The standards set by Russia have become an example for the whole world, Valerii Gazzayev
noted. He also pointed out
that for the national teams participated in the World Cup the ideal conditions
for the training and participation were created.
Valerii Gazzayev reminded that before the World Cup began, the information background of Western media was extremely negative — the newspapers were ”replicating horror stories“ about our country. However, the parliamentarian noted, ”during the time of Mundial, we did not hear a single negative feedback regarding the organization of the tournament, security, and convenience for both national teams and millions of tourists and fans“. In total, about 3 million spectators visited the tournament, more than 5 million people visited the FIFA fan zones on a group stage and 7 million people during the whole Cup.
